Investors looking to buy property in Spain to rent out to holidaymakers might wish to consider purchasing accommodation in Tenerife where there has been an increase in visitors.
According to budget airline Monarch, the number of passengers flying to the island increased by 20 per cent over the last year, reports the Huddersfield Examiner.
This could mean that property buyers might find there is an increase in the demand for rental properties.
With the economic downturn, many of these leisure travellers could be looking to avoid spending more money than they need to, so self-catering accommodation could be particularly attractive.
Year-on-year, Monarch reported that the proportion of seats filled on all of its flights rose by 0.21 per cent to pass the 82 per cent mark.
Earlier this month, Queen Sofia of Spain drew attention to budget flights between Spain and the UK when she took a Ryanair flight to London Stansted.
